We had 15 brave Amateurs in attendance last night HI, a good but lower number, due to the stormy weather. Two guests were with us, with three people testing, all passed. Ken Krahl, KM4DTS passed his General Class, Benjamin Selph passed his General Class test, Joe Grimes passed the Technician Class as well. Congratulations guys!
Monday’s weather was just a reminder of the need for more participation in the Sunday night at 9 pm, Purchase Area Emergency Weather and Traffic Net, PAEWTN. The weather in recent years has been extreme at times, and Amateur Radio is a powerful resource that has over the last 100 years, stepped in during times of emergencies and disasters. One member, Frank, KY4LDS suggested adding a “Check Box” in the sign in sheet to indicate participation in the PAEWTN net. The motion passed, and in the future, we can put a number in the box, to indicate our efforts to help in times of emergencies. Weather Spotting is one way to help our fellow man, and the training is available to those interested.
Net Control operators have been set for the next four weeks. To view the NCO’s click here.

Mike Newman mentioned Club officer’s positions for 2015, will be discussed at the next meeting. Those interested in serving their Club, should consider these positions. Plus, it’s fun to give back to such a great hobby as Amateur Radio! The Christmas Dinner will be held at Casa Mexicana, December 8 at 6pm. Bring your appetites for some great Mexican food. Gene N4FZ
